Curious Physiologies
BRITISH URBAN FANTASY: Book ONE OF THE LINEFOLK OF LONDON
Hannah Chadwick is running from her past, but she just stumbled into London’s most dangerous secret.
A fierce, professional nurse, Hannah found herself unfairly blacklisted after speaking out against corporate misconduct. Desperate for work, she takes the job at a nondescript clinic just off Harley Street, treating patients with “rare conditions” for an eccentric abclynician named Julius Wayworthy.
But this isn’t a normal medical practice. Hidden throughout the city, their world is defined by a mysterious energy source lurking in the tunnels of London’s Tube. These are the LineFolk: thousands of creatures—from elegant haemovores to monstrous shapeshifters—who use the city’s network to conceal their true forms.

Peculiar Consequences
BRITISH URBAN FANTASY: Book TWO OF THE LINEFOLK OF LONDON
PUBLISHING MARCH, 2026
Every Action Has a Price. Every Secret Has a Consequence.
The struggle for the security of London’s hidden underbelly didn’t end at Golden Square. In this high-stakes continuation of the LineFolk of London saga, Hannah Chadwick finds that being an apprentice to the legendary Wayworthy legacy is less about ancient books and more about surviving the “Edge”.
While Axton Flynn struggles to master the centuries of inherited memories now locked in his mind, the sanctuary of the clynic is under threat. A rival healer is becoming empowered in the shadows of the Circle Line, and patients are disappearing into a world of secrets that even the Master’s memories can’t fully explain.
As a rhythmic, spectral tapping begins to haunt Hannah—a sound no one else can hear—she is drawn toward the dark history of Cockpit Steps. Something is energizing the city’s phantasms, fueled by a resurgence of Victorian-era cruelty.
From the electrified tracks of the Underground to the blood-stained sawdust of an illegal gambling circuit, Hannah must navigate a world where LineFolk are once again being treated as sport. With the fierce werecat Mia at her side, Hannah discovers that her own evolving power may be the only thing capable of tipping the scales.
In a city built on top of monsters, the most dangerous thing you can do is care.

Unusual Afflictions
BRITISH URBAN FANTASY: Book THREE OF THE LINEFOLK OF LONDON
PUBLISHING MID-2026
London is a city of secrets, but some secrets are too sick to stay hidden.
For centuries, the LineFolk—werecats, nymphs, and other creatures of myth—have survived in the shadows of the Underground, bound to the magical linether that keeps them human. But the fragile peace of the safezones is about to shatter.
When a young nymph collapses on the doorstep of the clynic, nurse Hannah Chadwick thinks she’s dealing with a simple human infection. She’s wrong. Within hours, the clynic is besieged by sick LineFolk, and the symptoms are as varied as they are terrifying.
As the mysterious plague spreads like wildfire across the Ouroboros, Hannah and Flynn must abandon their sanctuary for a makeshift field hospital in the heart of the City. But with resources dwindling and the body count rising, the abclynician’s dated Victorian methods are no longer enough.
With Detective Sergeant Patel torn between his duty to London and his feelings for Hannah, and a desperate Mia considering a bargain with her estranged, power-hungry father, the stakes have never been higher. If Hannah can’t master her growing powers to find a cure, the LineFolk face two equally grim fates: total extinction, or a public exposure that will change London forever.
The LineFolk are falling. And the cure might be deadlier than the disease.

The Angel of Kings Cross
DARK URBAN CHRISTMAS FANTASY: COMPANION NOVELETTE TO THE LINEFOLK OF LONDON
Christmas miracles aren’t real… are they? And if there truly is an Angel of Kings Cross, is it a man, or a monster?
The rush of the festive season is passing Betty by. She’s just trying to make it through another Christmas in London, volunteering at a nearby shelter, helping the forgotten souls of Kings Cross.
Then she finds Caden, a secret waiting to be found.
On a dark, freezing Christmas night, her curiosity finally gives way to horror. She witnesses a flash of the impossible—a breach in the line between the human world and the dangerous truth of the hidden world that Caden has to conceal.

The LineFolk Of London FAQs
| Q: If I love the hidden world and mythology of authors like Neil Gaiman or Ben Aaronovitch, will I enjoy The LineFolk of London? | A: Absolutely. Much like the work of Ben Aaronovitch, my LineFolk of London series is a love letter to the city, but one that explores a darker, grimy Hidden London. Fans of the Urban Fantasy genre and the Modern Mythology found in Neil Gaiman’s work will appreciate how my world is rooted in British lore (with some European legends), but features a completely new take. I promise unpredictable mythical creatures that rarely behave the way you’d expect. |
| Q: Which famous London landmarks and hidden places feature in the series? | A: While I feature many famous London landmarks and weave in local folklore, I love exploring lesser-known places. The primary setting is just off Harley Street, London’s famous medical district, and a crucial scene takes place outside the British Museum. I delve into aspects of London history and even the River Thames gets a mention, despite being just outside the magical protection of the Circle Line. |
| Q: Is The LineFolk of London a good entry point for readers new to the Urban Fantasy genre? | A: Yes, I believe The LineFolk of London is a fantastic choice, making it perfect as Urban Fantasy for Beginners. I love creating fast-paced narratives where the mundane world of London layers over the incredible, giving my main characters amazing experiences. While it’s accessible, its deep lore and character-driven focus will keep long-term fans of the genre happily reading a fantastic new Urban Fantasy series. |
| Q: Is The LineFolk of London a dark urban fantasy, or does it have a lighter, humorous tone? | A: My writing style focuses on combining dark themes with black humour, so I would classify the series as Dark Urban Fantasy, but with variation in tone between books. For instance, the free novelette, The Angel of Kings Cross, is very dark, even with its Christmas setting. However, the first novel, Curious Physiologies, balances the darkness with my signature gritty humour. Regardless of tone, all my books feature high stakes and emotional intensity. |
| Q: Is the London Underground (Tube) a central part of the story in LineFolk? | A: Yes, it is absolutely crucial. The London Underground (Tube) is more than just a setting; the Tube network acts as a human-made layer that sits atop a powerful mythical energy source. This unique relationship is what allows the LineFolk to disguise themselves. Since the lines are the only safe way for them to travel without revealing their true form, I show how their entire existence in Secret London is inextricably bound to the transport system. |
| Q: What is the correct reading order for the The LineFolk of London series? | A: The official reading order starts with the Series Starter, the full length novel Curious Physiologies (Book 1). This is where I give readers the full backstory and introduce the core LineFolk characters. I have also published a free novelette, The Angel of Kings Cross, which can be enjoyed before or after the first novel. Following those two, the second full length novel in the series is Peculiar Consequences (Book 2). and then Unusual Afflictions (Book 3). |

I realised early in the process of writing Curious Physiologies, that it would be excellent material for an audiobook—a single point of view (almost) and lots of interesting monster voices for a narrator to get their teeth into.
I had only just started the process of finding a narrator when an amazing one fell into my lap. I connected with Sarah Edwards on Tiktk after seeing a post she published that advocated for human voices (and not AI). Looking at her back catalogue of work, I never imagined she would be interested in working with a fairly untested author, but luckily for me, that turned out not to be the case.
I recently sat down virtually with Sarah for a chat about her work and the process of producing the audiobook for Curious Physiologies.
